Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling, offered alongside gynecologic care rather than instead of it.

Morpheus8

Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to remodel collagen below the surface of the skin while leaving the surface itself largely intact. It is used on the face, neck and body for texture, fine lines, laxity, enlarged pores, acne scarring and stretch marks.

The mechanism is straightforward. Fine insulated needles pass into the dermis and release radiofrequency energy at the tip, producing controlled thermal injury at depth. The healing response that follows lays down new collagen and elastin over the following weeks and months. Because the energy is delivered below the surface rather than through it, recovery is shorter than with resurfacing treatments that work from the top down.

Results are gradual. Some people see a change within days, most see the bulk of it over two to three weeks, and remodeling continues for months. A course of one to four sessions is usual, and we will tell you honestly if what you want is not achievable with this device.

How it fits with the rest of the practice

Aesthetic services here sit alongside gynecologic care rather than driving it. If you come in asking about a vaginal or vulvar treatment, you will get a full assessment first, because a meaningful share of the time the underlying problem is genitourinary syndrome of menopause, which has a cheaper and far better-evidenced treatment. Our page on Morpheus8V sets out exactly what the evidence does and does not support, including the FDA position on energy-based vaginal devices.

Questions

Morpheus8, answered

What is Morpheus8 and how does it work?

Morpheus8 is radiofrequency microneedling. Fine insulated needles deliver radiofrequency energy below the skin surface, producing a controlled healing response and collagen remodeling over the following weeks. It is well established for facial and body skin treatment, and the platform includes a version adapted for vulvar and vaginal use.

What can it treat?

On the face, neck and body it is used for fine lines, uneven texture, enlarged pores, laxity, acne scarring and stretch marks. Results are gradual rather than immediate, and most people need a short course rather than a single session.

How many sessions and how long does a session take?

Typically one to four sessions depending on the area and what you want to change, spaced several weeks apart. A session runs from about 45 minutes to two hours including the time for topical anesthetic to take effect.

When will I see results and what is the downtime?

Some people notice tighter, smoother skin quite quickly, but most of the change appears over two to three weeks and continues for several months as collagen remodels. Expect redness and a fine grid pattern for a few days. Avoid direct sun and use sunscreen consistently for the first two weeks.

Is it safe, and who should not have it?

The energy delivery is precisely controlled and side effects are usually limited to temporary redness, swelling and sensitivity. It is not appropriate in pregnancy, over an active skin infection, with an implanted electronic device, or where there is a history of keloid scarring. We assess that before booking rather than on the day.
